What are Embossed and Debossed business cards?
Available as part of our luxury Individual range; “embossing” (or more correctly, “debossing”, as it’s usually intended to mean) is when you have content pressed into, or stamped into, the business card. All of our letterpress foil, whether metallic or non-metallic, is usually slightly debossed as part of the foiling process. We also offer blind debossing, which is a popular option, where a logo or graphic is more deeply pressed into the card without any colour. Like the example above, a popular trend this year is to have a blind debossed motif or graphical logo or initials pressed into the background of the card, with the company name (or perhaps website, etc.) running through it.
Additional options which complement our Embossed/Debossed business cards
Blind debossing is a favourite option of ours, and when discussing business card options and designs with new clients, is often one of our first recommendations. Literally adding a new dimension to the card, this option alone can really help transform even the simplest of business cards, into something very special and memorable.
Being letterpress, the rest of the content – even your contact details – will also usually be slightly pressed into the card (so you can feel it if you run your finger over the characters), which is a desirable effect and really adds to the luxury and professional feel and image of the card.
Blind debossing works very well with our other bespoke options such as letterpress foiling (as in image above), edge painting and die-cutting; and we’d always recommend potential clients to talk through the different options available with us, so that we can work with you to create a complementary set of options which will work best for your specific business.
